Construction Manager – Civil (12‑month contract, Valais, Switzerland)

About the role

Our client, a global leader in active pharmaceutical ingredient production, is seeking a Construction Manager with strong German language skills for a 12‑month open‑ended contract in the Valais region of Switzerland. You will oversee the full lifecycle of construction projects, ensuring they meet cost, schedule, quality, and safety targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and control service providers, suppliers, work steps, and material flows.
• Manage client‑owned works and align them with the EPCM company, covering mechanical, electrical, and ductwork scopes.
• Lead external planning teams and construction contractors not covered by EPCM.
• Ensure site organization, facilities, and smooth construction flow together with EPCM.
• Maintain compliance with planning specifications, regulations, and building standards.
• Conduct technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers and procurement.
• Oversee equipment logistics, sizing, crate configuration, and site entry methods.
• Continuously improve the Construction Management Plan and Health & Safety Plan.
• Generate weekly progress reports and look‑ahead plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction management for industrial or pharmaceutical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss construction regulations and standards.
• Ability to work on‑site and coordinate multiple disciplines.
• Fluent German (good level) and English communication skills.
