Consultant / Senior Consultant – Deal Advisory – Tech CoE

About the role

KPMG's Strategy Tech Center of Excellence is seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to support technology‑focused M&A engagements. You will work across the full deal lifecycle, from IT due diligence to integration and separation projects, helping clients translate complex technology landscapes into clear business value.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct IT due diligence, integration and separation assignments for M&A transactions.
• Analyse applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, costs and technology contracts to build structured technology landscapes.
• Prepare technology due diligence reports that highlight risks, value drivers and opportunities for valuation.
• Translate technical findings into business implications, linking technology to strategy, operations, synergies and deal value.
• Support integration and separation planning, including target operating models, TSA concepts and implementation roadmaps.
• Collaborate within cross‑functional deal teams, identify technology synergies and contribute to technology workstreams.
• Develop knowledge of technology benchmarks and best practices to assess fit‑for‑purpose technology functions in deals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field with an outstanding academic record.
• 0‑3 years of experience in technology strategy, IT in M&A, technology due diligence or data‑driven advisory.
• Demonstrated project experience in due diligence or related technology strategy work.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem‑solving abilities and mental flexibility.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and interact with senior stakeholders.
• Fluency in German and English; French or Italian is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
