Country Manager - European Crypto & Fintech

About the role

A partner company is looking for a Country Manager based in Switzerland to lead market expansion and business growth across the European cryptocurrency and digital finance landscape. The role combines hands-on marketing expertise with strategic partnerships, community engagement and user acquisition, while navigating the evolving European regulatory framework. It suits an experienced fintech or crypto leader in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a business strategy for the European market covering expansion, user acquisition, revenue growth and long-term commercial success.
• Lead regional operations, including marketing campaigns, industry events, community initiatives and partnership development.
• Build relationships with KOLs, financial institutions, fintech organisations and ecosystem partners.
• Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities in the European crypto and fintech sectors.
• Work with Legal and Compliance teams on regulatory alignment, including MiCA/MiCAR, MiFID and EMI requirements where relevant.
• Collaborate with global Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal and Compliance teams and monitor regional performance against KPIs.
• Mentor regional team members and represent the organisation at industry events and networking opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is a strong advantage.
• At least 10 years of leadership experience in marketing, business development, general management or related functions in technology, fintech or financial services.
• Previous experience as a Country Manager or senior executive in the cryptocurrency, blockchain or digital asset industry is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English and at least one additional European language (German, French, Spanish or Italian).

Required skills

• Strong understanding of the European cryptocurrency market, fintech ecosystem and regional competition.
• Knowledge of European regulatory frameworks (MiCA/MiCAR, MiFID, EMI) and ability to work with legal and compliance specialists.
• Proven track record in business growth strategies, marketing, user acquisition and partnership building.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
