About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a Credit Officer for Mortgages in Zurich. The role acts as the second line of defence in mortgage underwriting and servicing for domestic and international private banking clients, assessing credit risk, ensuring compliance and supporting the front line in delivering sound mortgage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate mortgage requests within personal approval authority, assessing borrower creditworthiness, collateral and structural risks
• Give qualified feedback and recommendations to Mortgage Advisors and Relationship Managers
• Ensure all transactions meet legal, regulatory and internal requirements
• Handle servicing and lifecycle administration of active mortgage facilities, including modifications and renewals
• Improve data quality across current and new mortgage positions
• Contribute to process optimisation and operational excellence with stakeholders
• Maintain regular contact with Mortgage Advisors, the Julius Baer Real Estate Team and Relationship Managers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a related field; equivalent professional experience also considered
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in mortgage lending, ideally in private banking or wealth management
• Solid understanding of mortgage underwriting, product structures and risk mitigation techniques
• Familiarity with Swiss banking regulations and frameworks
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
• French and English required, plus demonstrable proficiency in German
