CTO & AI Engineering Manager for Zurich Hedge Fund

About the role

We are seeking a senior technology leader to serve as CTO and AI Engineering Manager for a Zurich‑based hedge fund with $2 billion AUM. You will drive the integration of advanced AI solutions into our investment research pipeline, leading a small, elite team of engineers and researchers from top‑tech companies.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the fund’s technology roadmap, aligning AI initiatives with investment strategies.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high‑performing engineering team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Oversee development of sector models, data pipelines, and integration of machine‑learning algorithms.
• Lead AI/ML strategy, including processing unstructured data (text, audio, video) and training custom large language models.
• Ensure scalability, security, and performance of all technical infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with equity analysts and sector experts to translate research insights into technology solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CTO or senior technology leader in a FAANG‑level or international big‑tech environment.
• Hands‑on background in AI/ML projects, preferably with experience building or deploying large language models.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and lead top‑tier engineering talent.
• Willingness to relocate to Switzerland and work onsite in Zurich.
