Data Platform Responsible (Global)

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for a Data Platform Responsible to lead the end‑to‑end technical lifecycle of its global data platform (data lake house). You will work closely with product owners, system architects and IT service owners to ensure the platform meets business needs, architectural standards and operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the design, development and operation of a global data platform built on Kubernetes, Kafka and distributed storage (S3/HDFS).
• Drive the platform’s technical roadmap, including modernization, decommissioning and alignment with corporate standards.
• Own solution design, security concepts and interface agreements, collaborating with system architects.
• Plan and coordinate releases, work with change‑ and release‑management processes and decide on production go‑live.
• Supervise infrastructure and data development, promote automation, unit testing and CI/CD practices.
• Deliver 3rd‑level support, act as master data custodian and manage third‑party suppliers.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience in data platforms, data lakes or data lake houses, preferably on‑premise.
• Several years in a similar technical leadership role within the financial industry.
• Strong communication, planning and coordination skills, with a proactive, solution‑driven attitude.
• Fluent English (written and verbal); German is a plus.
