Data Scientist – Research Team

About the role

The Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC) is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Research team. You will work with academic and public‑sector collaborators across Switzerland, applying cutting‑edge machine‑learning and AI methods to diverse data sets in health, climate, energy, and social sciences.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers and domain experts to define project goals and data requirements.
• Design, implement, and evaluate machine‑learning models for tabular, textual, visual, and multi‑modal data.
• Develop reproducible code in Python and PyTorch and release it as open‑source when appropriate.
• Co‑author scientific papers and prepare submissions to top‑tier conferences and journals.
• Potentially supervise student contributors in partnership with senior data scientists.

Required profile

• MSc in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong focus on Machine Learning and AI.
• Proven experience designing and training ML models for various data modalities.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to interdisciplinary teams.
