Deputy Chief Technology Officer

About the role

The Deputy CTO will partner with the CTO to oversee daily operations of the global engineering organization, ensuring delivery, resilience, and budget across all divisions. The role connects business strategy with technical execution for high‑frequency trading and asset‑management platforms, allowing the CTO to focus on long‑term AI initiatives and external representation.

Key responsibilities

• Run day‑to‑day global engineering operations, own OKRs, monthly business reviews and delivery pipelines.
• Deputize for the CTO in interactions with the Board, Executive Committee and external partners.
• Lead the multi‑year consolidation of trading infrastructure across 80+ venues and 1,400+ markets, delivering a minimum viable product with reduced latency.
• Oversee creation and governance of shared data pipelines and a centralized data catalog with cross‑divisional SLAs.
• Execute cybersecurity and regulatory commitments (MiCA, DORA, SOC 2), fostering a controls‑by‑design culture.
• Manage the global engineering budget, vendor relationships and integration of engineering assets from M&A.
• Mentor divisional VPs, refine career frameworks and scale the engineering team across Europe and the US.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and running engineering operating models (metrics, governance, delivery) for globally distributed teams.
• Strong ability to challenge senior architects on system design and make decisive technical decisions.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering complex, high‑performance platforms in regulated environments.
• Experience managing large budgets, vendor contracts and M&A engineering integrations.
• Ability to mentor senior engineering leaders and build scalable career frameworks.
