Desk Clerk – Front Desk Operations

About the role
The Desk Clerk supports the Property Manager by managing front‑desk traffic, assisting tenants, visitors, and staff, and ensuring the reception area remains organized and welcoming. This full‑time, on‑site position is essential to maintaining a safe and efficient building environment.
Key responsibilities
- Answer and direct telephone calls, take messages, and place emergency calls when needed.
- Check visitor IDs, enforce visitor policies, and sign visitors in and out.
- Distribute resident mail daily and complete work orders, comment cards, and violation forms.
- Write end‑of‑shift, incident, and work‑order reports.
- Maintain a neat reception area and fill in for other desk clerks as required.
- Follow health‑safety protocols, including annual tuberculosis testing and exposure control for blood‑borne pathogens.
Required profile
- Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds and individuals with special needs is a plus.
- Knowledge of federal, state, local laws and Fair Housing guidelines.
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking ability in English.
- Strong sense of awareness, urgency, and adherence to procedures.
