DevOps Engineer (Cyber Security Focus)

About the role

Join a high‑performing Cyber Defense team in Bern that builds and operates secure, mission‑critical infrastructure. You will work on Linux‑based systems and Kubernetes platforms, focusing on security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and operate secure, automated infrastructure in an on‑premise private cloud.
• Build and maintain Linux servers, containerised applications and Kubernetes clusters.
• Implement and manage security monitoring and detection solutions, including SIEM platforms.
• Participate in security incident investigation, response and continuous improvement of detection capabilities.
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Perform system hardening, vulnerability management and enforce secure access controls.
• Troubleshoot complex networking, OS, container and application issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux systems and infrastructure engineering.
• Practical experience in at least one security discipline (SIEM, monitoring, threat detection, incident response).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls).
• Swiss citizenship is required.
