DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

MF Group, a subsidiary of Riverty and part of the Bertelsmann Group, is looking for a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) for its Chiasso location. Working within the Cloud & Infrastructure team, you will design, automate and operate CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure platforms that support the group's critical business systems, helping to modernize software delivery and improve deployment reliability across on-premises and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI) with development teams, optimizing build, test and release workflows.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management with tools such as Ansible and Packer.
• Deploy, operate and evolve containerized workloads on Kubernetes, and support the migration of services from virtual machines to containers.
• Improve observability and monitoring (e.g. New Relic or equivalent) and take part in incident handling and on-call support.
• Own security hardening, patch management and vulnerability remediation across infrastructure and the delivery pipeline.
• Define and maintain infrastructure standards, best practices and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform or infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record of building and operating production systems.
• Experience operating delivery platforms in production, including troubleshooting, incident handling and on-call support, combined with strong collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Solid experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar).
• Proven experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes and administering Linux-based environments.
• Strong experience with Ansible; experience with Terraform, Packer or similar tools.
• Nice to have: awareness of security, data protection and compliance concepts (PII, GDPR); experience in regulated industries such as financial services, payments or banking; container security scanning and artifact repositories (e.g. Sonatype Nexus); observability platforms (New Relic, OpenTelemetry, Nagios/Centreon); Linux lifecycle tools (Katello / Foreman) or Kubernetes management platforms; identity and SSO solutions (Keycloak, OIDC, Entra ID).
