Digital Food Safety Early Warning Specialist

About the role

As a Digital Food Safety Early Warning Specialist at Nestlé Research, you will enable proactive detection of potential food safety issues by strengthening the evaluation of external scientific signals and advancing digital early warning systems. You will collaborate closely with food safety, quality, research, technology, and external data partners to turn ideas into sustainable, innovative solutions for people, pets, and the planet.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen proactive food safety early warning by scouting and evaluating emerging issues across priority contaminant areas.
• Identify and assess internal and external data sources that improve detection, prioritization, and scientific evaluation of early signals.
• Drive the evaluation and deployment of digital technologies that enhance data‑driven detection of emerging food safety topics.
• Coordinate testing and validation of prototypes to transform early warning processes into scalable digital solutions.
• Build scientific collaborations that connect research, technology, and business needs to protect consumers.

Required profile

• Basic chemistry knowledge and understanding of chemical contaminants and their impact on food safety.
• Knowledge of food safety and quality processes within supply chains and incident management.
• Experience using data and digital technologies for risk assessment, root‑cause analysis, and early‑warning decision‑making.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external partners and translate research into business impact.
• Fluent English; working proficiency in French is a plus.
