Director, International Access – Cardio Pipeline

About the role

As Director, International Access – Cardio Pipeline, you will shape how innovative cardiovascular therapies reach patients worldwide. Based in Basel, you will define and execute a bold access strategy that translates scientific breakthroughs into compelling value propositions for payers and health systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of integrated international access strategies across the development‑to‑commercial continuum.
• Craft payer and health‑system value propositions grounded in robust scientific and access‑relevant evidence.
• Represent the Access function internally and externally, influencing strategic discussions and strengthening Novartis’ global access agenda.
• Embed access insights into Target Product Profiles, clinical plans, and evidence generation plans to guide asset decisions.
• Partner with Commercial Launch Strategy, Pricing, and Therapeutic Areas to co‑create international pricing guidance.
• Provide timely, high‑quality access input into Integrated Product Strategy, business development assessments, and indication sequencing.
• Collaborate with Health Economics and cross‑franchise teams to align evidence priorities with market needs.
• Anticipate shifts in priority markets and health‑technology‑assessment frameworks to model future access assumptions.
• Build strong cross‑functional and external partnerships to enable innovative, scalable access solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in market access roles with demonstrated strategic impact.
• At least two years of global or outside‑United‑States regional experience.
• Experience working early in the medicine development lifecycle and supporting successful product launches in international markets.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across complex, matrixed organizations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MD, or PharmD).
