Director of MTO Operational Excellence

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director of MTO Operational Excellence to join the Site Leadership Team in Schaffhausen. Reporting to the Sr. Director Operational Excellence and dotted‑line to the Site General Manager, the role will shape programs and roadmaps that drive the site’s long‑term vision and continuous improvement culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and sustain all JJPS business processes, lean leadership and the Culture of Excellence at the site.
• Own the CIP pipeline process, set yearly site CIP targets, manage the cost‑improvement portfolio in Planisware and monitor site KPI.
• Drive site performance management, prepare performance review decks and ensure adherence to cadence.
• Lead deployment of strategic OPEX initiatives such as Smart Change Over, OEE, Golden Batch, Waste to Excellence, ZBB and ideation workshops.
• Provide capability building, coaching and mentoring for Lean/Six Sigma and project‑management certifications.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of relevant experience with at least 8 years in operations, planning or project management.
• 3‑5 years leading a continuous‑improvement/lean function and 3‑5 years of managerial experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage governance models.
• Fluent German (C2) and strong communication skills in a multicultural setting.

Required skills

• Lean/Continuous Improvement certification – Master Black Belt or Black Belt.
• Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
• Experience with JJPS/Production systems, RCPS and Planisware.
• Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, OEE, ZBB, Agile Manufacturing and GMP/ISO 9001 standards.
