Director of Value & Access

About the role

The Director of Value & Access will shape and execute market access strategies for Biogen’s products across the EU and Intercontinental Region affiliates. Reporting to regional leadership, you will provide strategic vision, support health technology assessments, and design innovative access schemes to ensure product availability for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of regional market access strategies and feed insights to global functions.
• Partner with affiliate Access teams to set pricing and reimbursement priorities.
• Collaborate with Medical and Global Value & Access teams to define evidence requirements for payer value propositions.
• Provide strategic input on the evolving ex‑US payer landscape and identify future opportunities.
• Represent Value & Access in the EU/BIR Regional Operations team and oversee national pricing implementation.
• Align market access needs with corporate annual planning and ensure training for regional teams.
• Disseminate best practices and foster a culture of excellence across ICOE, Value & Access, and affiliates.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in market access, reimbursement, or public affairs within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of pricing, reimbursement, and access mechanisms in top ex‑US markets.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cross‑functional projects and external vendors.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Higher‑level degree in Health Economics, Health Services Research, Epidemiology, Marketing, or Business Studies (MA/MSc/PhD).
