ECAD Service Manager

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for an ECAD Service Manager to oversee and optimise its electrical and electronic computer-aided design (ECAD) systems and services. The role ensures the efficient operation of ECAD applications and supports Hitachi Energy's engineering and other value chains globally. It is a full-time position based in Baden, Aargau, Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and enhance the ECAD service portfolio so that applications are harmonised and aligned with strategy.
• Lead agile development teams, application managers, project managers, specialists and external vendors.
• Oversee the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of ECAD applications, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Manage the full lifecycle of ECAD applications and environments, including selection, deployment, maintenance, upgrades and retirement.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, demand and strategic objectives.
• Manage vendor relationships, including software and hardware licensing, technical support and contract negotiations.
• Deliver software projects in line with the Hitachi Energy IT Project Management Framework.
• Develop ECAD best practices, standards and procedures, and evaluate and introduce new ECAD technologies and methodologies.
• Manage budgets for ECAD software, hardware and services, ensuring compliance with industry standards, company policies and data security requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in ECAD system administration, development, support or design engineering roles.
• At least 3 years of leadership or management experience.
• Proven ability to manage projects, prioritise workloads and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, purchasing and cost management.

Required skills

• Agile software development methods such as SAFe, Scrum and Kanban.
• Knowledge of IT service management frameworks, particularly ITIL.
• Hands-on experience with ECAD tools such as Zuken E3 series, Altium or similar platforms.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior business stakeholders.
