EHS Manager (m/w/d) – Fragrances

About the role

Givaudan is hiring an EHS Manager (m/w/d) for its Fragrances department in Vernier, Switzerland. Reporting to the EHS Director, you will direct and support management of all environmental, health and safety functions for the site in line with Givaudan's EHS policies and applicable regulations, manage risk and drive cultural change to reduce the likelihood of incidents, and act as backup to the EHS Director on process safety and occupational health and safety matters.

Key responsibilities

• Coach line managers so that EHS remains a line responsibility and deploy the site EHS vision aligned with company strategy and local legislation
• Manage compliance with EHS regulations, oversee site training for employees and contractors, and run behaviour-based safety programmes
• Implement safety and health programmes, ensure effective emergency planning, and complete regulatory reports accurately
• Report on KPIs, track safety audits, incidents and near misses, and lead the employee safety committee
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste, maintain documentation, and build relationships with authorities, communities and other departments
• Act as primary contact for federal, state and local EHS agencies and as backup to the EHS Director
• Collaborate with Process Safety Specialists on PSM initiatives, ATEX compliance and hazardous area classification

Required profile

• Master's degree in chemistry, engineering, EHS or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of industry experience, including prior EHS plant experience and 3 years in people management
• EHS qualification or certification for the country of employment; STPS Swiss diploma and fire safety officer certificate are a plus
• Fluent English and French

Required skills

• Hazard identification, risk assessment, risk control and root cause analysis
• Process safety management, audit and H+S management
• Knowledge of ATEX regulations and hazardous environments
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
