EHS Senior Specialist – Integrated Biologics & Specialized Modalities

About the role

Lonza is seeking an EHS Senior Specialist for its Integrated Biologics and Specialized Modalities platforms. The role is fully site‑based, ensuring safe and sustainable manufacturing environments while complying with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary EHS contact for the assigned operational unit(s) and support compliance with EHS regulations.
• Provide support for EHS risk assessments and perform assessments for Technical Change Requests.
• Participate in Safety Gemba Walks, audits, and other walkthroughs, offering subject‑matter expertise.
• Facilitate execution and documentation of EHS incident investigations.
• Support the business with EHS CAPA and KPI definition and tracking.
• Collaborate closely with Safety Coaches to implement EHS initiatives.
• Conduct training and instruction on EHS topics.

Required profile

• Certification as a Safety Specialist (EKAS or ASGS).
• Background in Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or equivalent.
• Fluent English and German, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on delivering results.
• Leadership qualities with personal accountability for safety outcomes.
