About the role

Join CERN’s Cabling Section as an Electrical Cabling Project Technician. You will play a key role in expanding, strengthening, and maintaining control and power cable installations that support critical accelerator systems such as alarm, process control, beam instrumentation, and magnet powering.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse cable installation requests, gather missing information and define cable types, connectors, routing and mechanical supports.
• Create bills of quantities, budgets and organise cabling/de‑cabling campaigns with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed work documentation including drawings, cable lists, connector assembly and test procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards and define mitigation measures in line with CERN safety standards.
• Manage logistics for material delivery, scaffolding setup and site access.
• Lead worksite meetings, monitor progress, safety and quality, and report status.
• Perform inspection, testing and acceptance of completed cabling work.

Required profile

• Technical certificate, secondary education or equivalent with relevant experience in industrial electrical installation.
• Proven experience planning, preparing and overseeing industrial electrical cabling activities, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Strong background with control and power cables, connectors and verification of technical quality against standards.
• Experience supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Required skills

• Design and manufacturing of high‑voltage and low‑voltage cables and connectors.
