Electrical Construction Manager

About the role

The Electrical Construction Manager will lead the delivery of complex electrical construction projects for Mercury in Zurich. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives are met while coordinating internal engineering teams and external subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety in collaboration with the project team and Mercury Safety Advisor, including set‑up, maintenance and closure of the safety file.
• Oversee site quality assurance together with the Mercury QA Manager, handling the QA file from initiation to close‑out.
• Control the project schedule alongside the Mercury Project team and Project Manager.
• Track all project costs – labour, material, plant, equipment and variations – and prepare valuations.
• Direct day‑to‑day site operations and align discipline leads to achieve project goals.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities, monitor progress against the schedule, and hold weekly minuted meetings.
• Maintain the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system and ensure weekly punch‑list updates.
• Report direct labour and subcontractor hours to the time administrator for central tracking.
• Participate in site, internal, engineering, planning and hand‑over meetings.
• Assist with project close‑out, including final account, O&M manuals, punch list, safety and QA files, and asset relocations.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing electrical construction sites, including safety, quality and cost control.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Excellent organisational skills to handle documentation, meetings and progress reporting.
