Electrical Design Technician – Junior Level

About the role

The Electrical Engineering Group at CERN is looking for a junior Electrical Design Technician to join the Design and Documentation Office. You will support senior designers by creating and modifying electrical drawings, performing low‑voltage network calculations, and handling quality‑related tasks within the office.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD or similar).
• Produce calculation notes with ElecCalc/Caneco BT or comparable tools.
• Generate bills of material and cabling tables in Excel.
• Maintain and update design templates and manage the printing office.

Required profile

• Maximum two years of professional experience after graduation in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in low‑voltage distribution network design, cable sizing and selectivity studies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar) and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
