Electronics Technician – Hardware Validation

About the role

We are looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Lausanne Engineering Hub, supporting the development of autonomous drone platforms for air‑defence, ISR, strike and electronic warfare. You will own the full hardware validation lifecycle, from component creation in Altium to bench testing, system validation and final drone assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand the Altium Designer component library, including symbols, footprints and 3D models.
• Support PCB design reviews and perform hands‑on bring‑up and validation of new board revisions.
• Conduct electrical measurements and functional tests using oscilloscopes, multimeters and power analyzers.
• Assemble and integrate electronics into drone platforms, performing precision soldering and full system checkout.
• Write clear technical validation and test reports for each hardware iteration.
• Collaborate daily with hardware, systems, firmware/software and procurement teams.
• Mentor junior technicians or interns as the team grows.

Required profile

• Technical diploma (Technician ES, HEIG or equivalent Swiss/European engineering college).
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience as an electronics technician, preferably in drone/UAV, avionics, defense or aerospace environments.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, iterative development setting.

Required skills

• Altium Designer – schematic capture, library management and footprint creation.
• Precision soldering of micro‑components (0201, 0402) and advanced packages (QFN, BGA).
• Electrical measurement using oscilloscopes, multimeters and power analyzers.
• PCB review and bring‑up.
• Technical documentation and test‑report writing.
