Embedded Security Verification Engineer

About the role

Join Belimo as an Embedded Security Verification Engineer and help secure next‑generation embedded and IoT products. You will lead security testing, identify vulnerabilities, and build automated validation solutions for ARM‑based firmware platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, document and lead security testing campaigns for embedded products, including penetration testing, threat modeling and security reviews.
• Validate critical security features such as Secure Boot, Secure Update, Secure Storage and communication protocols.
• Design, develop and maintain automated security testing and validation frameworks using Python and Robot Framework.
• Coordinate with external development partners, support firmware releases and investigate reported security defects.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; cybersecurity certifications are a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing of communication stacks (REST APIs, HTTP, Modbus, BACnet, etc.).
• Strong programming skills in Embedded C++ and Python.
• Fluent English communication; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Secure Boot, Secure Update, TrustedFirmware‑M, secure storage concepts.
• Cryptography fundamentals (encryption, digital signatures, PKI, key management).
• RTOS environments, network protocols and industrial field buses.
• Test automation tools such as Robot Framework.
