Embedded Software Engineer (80-100%) – Zurich

About the role

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and build high‑performance, low‑latency software for mission‑critical banking and fintech systems. You will work closely with hardware‑focused teams, covering the full development lifecycle from architecture to optimisation and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ applications on Linux platforms.
• Implement networking features using TCP/IP and UDP sockets.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and test low‑level components.
• Profile, tune and optimise code for latency and throughput.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.

Required profile

• Passion for low‑latency, high‑performance systems.
• Experience working in mission‑critical or fintech environments is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and within an agile team.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.
• Linux operating system and embedded development.
• Networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP) and socket programming.
• Low‑level programming and performance optimisation.
• Python and Bash scripting for tooling.
• Version control with Git.
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
