Engineering Manager - Muttenz

About the role

Syngenta Crop Protection is looking for an Engineering Manager (m/f/d) for its multipurpose production site in Muttenz. The manager leads a team of engineers responsible for capital projects and engineering solutions that bring new active ingredients into production on the Muttenz NAIS asset, bridging product technology and manufacturing. The role also supports capital projects across the site's CAPEX portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage CAPEX projects from engineering concept to mechanical completion, following the Engineering Project Process (EPP)
• Promote the use of the Swiss Engineering Platform and integrate CAPEX efficiency elements such as portfolio optimization and scope and design approaches
• Develop scopes of work, design basis documents, capital proposals and engineering schedules, and support approvals at relevant gates
• Manage engineering contractors and design houses, ensuring design quality, constructability and compliance with Syngenta standards
• Run post-project engineering reviews and turn lessons learned into updated standards and design guidelines
• Drive Project Sustainability Reviews to include energy efficiency, waste reduction and low-carbon principles

Required profile

• Degree or master in energy transition, or a master's/BS in industrial, engineering or chemical sciences, or a 5-year technical degree in a related field
• Manufacturing specialist
• Fluent English; German is a plus
• Experience in programme management and change or operational management
• Ability to work autonomously in a complex environment, influence stakeholders and liaise with political players and government bodies
