Enterprise Architect

About the role

Vitol is seeking an Enterprise Architect to define, structure and govern its target technology and data architecture across global trading and physical operations. Reporting directly to the CTO, this newly created role will shape the Enterprise Architecture function from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Own the enterprise technology blueprints and define target state architectures for key systems and integration layers.
• Establish a lightweight Architecture Advisory Framework to review high‑risk technical decisions and major vendor selections.
• Define technology and integration standards, identify technical debt and guide its remediation.
• Develop decision criteria for build‑vs‑buy, rationalise legacy platforms and manage the application inventory.
• Partner with product engineering, trading desks, CyberOps, Cloud & Infrastructure and lead the demand management process.

Required profile

• 7+ years of enterprise architecture or technical leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
• Proven ability to establish pragmatic architecture governance models.
• Hands‑on expertise designing modern, event‑driven architectures.
• Deep understanding of cloud‑native application patterns and AI/agentic capabilities.
• Commitment to security‑by‑design and resilient solutions.
