External Asset Manager Relationship Manager – Basel

About the role

An international private banking and asset management group is strengthening its External Asset Manager (EAM) business in Basel with an experienced relationship professional. The role is a Client Relationship Manager position for the EAM segment, based in Basel and fully office-based, with a commitment to living in or near the city. You will manage and develop the existing portfolio of EAM relationships and act as a key point of contact for clients, combining client management, business development and coordination with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop existing EAM relationships and identify opportunities for new business
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with external asset managers and their clients
• Understand client requirements and coordinate banking and investment solutions
• Promote the Bank's products and services and contribute to business development initiatives
• Prepare for and take part in client meetings, events and presentations
• Act as key contact for day-to-day client enquiries and requests
• Coordinate and monitor client instructions, including payments, securities transactions and changes to static data
• Work with internal teams to ensure timely execution of client requirements
• Monitor credit lines, investment maturities and other client matters
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations, including AML, FATCA and MiFID
• Follow up on administrative and operational matters to maintain a high level of client service

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics or a related discipline
• Around 5-10 years' relevant experience in Private Banking or Financial Services, ideally with exposure to External Asset Managers
• Swiss private banking experience is highly desirable but not essential
• Strong understanding of private banking products, services and client processes, with a client-focused approach
• Commercial mindset, organisation and ability to prioritise and work under pressure
• Fluent German and English; additional languages are an advantage
• Swiss work permit eligibility required; cross-border candidates are welcome
