F1 Data Engineer – Real-time Trackside Solutions

About the role

As the FIA F1 Data Engineer you will join the Data Intelligence team in Geneva, designing and deploying end‑to‑end data solutions that support real‑time trackside decisions and the data‑driven development of future sporting and technical regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of cloud architecture and platform services for competition data across FIA championships.
• Support migration to and adoption of new cloud‑based data platforms, improving data management and reducing time‑to‑value.
• Develop and maintain scalable data storage, access standards and integration pipelines for heterogeneous sources such as time‑series, video, audio and documents.
• Ensure high availability, performance and scalability of both cloud and on‑premise infrastructure, implementing monitoring, alerting and incident‑response processes.
• Own the full product lifecycle—from requirements gathering and proof‑of‑concept to production deployment and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience building robust, observable cloud data solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a high‑performance, cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Design and deployment of micro‑service architectures, including containerization and orchestration.
