Facilities Manager – Basel (German speaking)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager for our client’s office in the Basel area. The position is permanent and requires German language proficiency to ensure effective communication with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the organization, upkeep, and functionality of facilities, infrastructure, and supporting systems.
• Support maintenance, servicing, and repair of building infrastructure, monitoring completion of activities and minor repair projects.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for laboratory and scientific operations.
• Monitor and maintain critical systems such as temperature, humidity, pressure, and environmental monitoring.
• Ensure reliable operation of utility services including water, gas, electricity, and HVAC.
• Manage service agreements, external contractors, and service providers.
• Coordinate hazardous waste and solvent collection, labeling, storage, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
• Handle procurement activities, supplier selection, quotation requests, cost negotiations, and purchasing processes.
• Maintain accurate equipment records and oversee asset lifecycle management.
• Administer software applications and databases related to procurement, inventory management, and internal systems.

Required profile

• Relevant work or residency permit, or Swiss/EU citizenship.
• Completed vocational training, apprenticeship, or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in facility management, technical operations, or a comparable role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
