Feasibility Study Consultant for Social Enterprise Model

About the role

Terre des hommes seeks an experienced consultancy firm or independent consultant to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study on establishing a full or hybrid social enterprise to deliver its Child Rights and Business advisory services. The assignment will evaluate strategic, legal, operational, financial and reputational aspects while safeguarding the NGO’s mission and tax‑exempt status.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse legal, governance and operational feasibility of full and hybrid social‑enterprise models.
• Benchmark peer NGOs with similar social‑enterprise structures and extract best practices.
• Assess tax implications and develop a pathway for legal set‑up, including risk‑mitigation and safeguard controls.
• Perform a comprehensive risk assessment covering organizational, financial, legal, operational, reputational, cybersecurity and compliance dimensions.
• Develop financial sustainability scenarios, cost‑benefit analysis and break‑even projections for a 3‑5‑year horizon.
• Provide recommendations on governance, staffing, conflict‑of‑interest frameworks and brand management between Terre des hommes and the new entity.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in non‑profit restructuring, social‑enterprise design and legal/tax advisory, preferably with experience in the humanitarian sector.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality analytical reports and strategic recommendations.
