Field Service Team Lead

About the role

The Field Service Team Lead will coordinate and guide global field service activities, ensuring successful system installations, reliable device performance, and timely resolution of technical issues. This role provides technical leadership to field service engineers and bridges communication between field operations and internal engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the activities of Field Service Engineers worldwide.
• Develop and maintain global service plans covering installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and risk mitigation.
• Plan and manage travel schedules and service logistics for site visits.
• Support engineers in diagnosing complex software and hardware issues.
• Prepare service estimations and resource planning for upcoming installations.
• Maintain service documentation, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prioritize service requests, manage escalations, and coordinate corrective actions with R&D, production, and quality teams.
• Communicate field feedback to product management to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in field service, technical support or service operations, preferably in medical devices.
• Proven experience leading and developing field service teams, including performance coaching and one‑on‑one meetings.
• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills with cross‑functional collaboration experience.

Required skills

• Software and hardware troubleshooting.
• Preventive maintenance and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and technical documentation.
