Field Service Technician – Midlands/Bern Region (80‑100%)

About the role

As a Field Service Technician you will deliver on‑site service for ABB’s Smart Power solutions in the Midlands/Bern region. Working directly with customers, you will ensure equipment operates efficiently, support optimisation projects and uphold ABB’s high standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers on‑site to identify optimisation opportunities and resolve technical challenges.
• Perform field‑service tasks, diagnose issues and conduct on‑site or remote analysis for certified product areas.
• Prepare material lists and ensure all required parts, tools and equipment are available and in good condition.
• Provide training to field‑service colleagues and customers when required.
• Participate in on‑call duty and occasional weekend work, travelling within the Mittelland/Bern region.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship as an automation technician, electrician, electrical installer or comparable technical qualification.
• Minimum three years of experience in automation, electrical engineering or a related field; UPS system experience is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of electromechanical systems, diagnostic tools and industrial field‑service methods.
• Fluent German and basic English for professional customer communication.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
