Financial Intern (Accounts Receivable & Reporting)

About the role

IMD, an independent university institute founded in 1945 and operating from Lausanne with hubs in Singapore, Shenzhen and Cape Town, is recruiting a full-time Financial Intern for 1 February to 31 July 2027. The internship gives exposure to finance operations, including accounts receivable, invoicing and payment collection, and includes rotations across teams to understand day-to-day finance operations for middle-sized enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Daily payment reconciliations between bank statements and invoices booked in the ERP
• Book journal entries for cash collection transactions and create and issue client invoices
• Track and collect outstanding payments, follow up on overdue invoices and handle other accounts receivable activities
• Respond to administrative client requests and support ad-hoc operational tasks
• Prepare presentations by turning complex data into clear messages, charts and PowerPoint slides for Leadership Team discussions
• Map existing workflows, document processes and support ad-hoc internal control or audit-related analyses
• Help prepare evidence and schedules requested during external audits

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a similar field
• Valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EEA/EFTA citizenship
• Fluent English (minimum C1); conversational French is a plus

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and MS Office
• Knowledge of Power BI is a plus
• Strong planning, communication (written and oral), and data analysis skills
