FP&A Analyst

About the role

Join MDPI's FP&A and Corporate Finance team as an FP&A Analyst, transforming financial data into strategic insights that drive business decisions. The position is fully onsite in Basel and involves close collaboration with finance teams across European and North American operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly variance analyses, comparing actual results against prior year performance and current forecasts.
• Build and maintain financial models, update forecasts and create dashboards using Tableau or Power BI to track key performance indicators.
• Support the forecasting process for all MDPI offices, ensuring accurate projections and clear communication to management.
• Collect and prepare financial reports according to MDPI standards, contributing to continuous improvement of reporting processes.
• Collaborate with AR and Accounting teams to validate revenue booking and streamline month‑end closing.
• Conduct ad‑hoc analyses and support new projects related to financial reporting and analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or business economics (Master's or Swiss federal certificate is a plus).
• 2+ years of experience in FP&A, Controlling, Reporting or Corporate Finance.
• Experience with forecasting and variance analysis; international company experience advantageous.
• English proficiency at C1 level; German at B1 level or higher.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
