Freight Costs Control Manager

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Freight Costs Control Manager to lead transportation cost control, freight payment governance, and analytics across its global supply chain. The role ensures accurate financial management of freight, optimizes processes, and drives data‑driven improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead freight audit and payment processes with external providers, ensuring accurate invoice validation and timely supplier payments.
• Manage freight cost reporting, financial analysis, accruals, and performance metrics to support cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Act as the transportation subject‑matter expert for analytics platforms, driving data quality, user adoption, and reporting enhancements.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Transportation, Finance, Accounts Payable, BPA, and logistics partners to maintain carrier governance and operational efficiency.
• Lead supply chain and transportation projects focused on process improvement, automation, and compliance with GxP requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain logistics, transportation management, freight cost control or related functions.
• Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills and ability to work with stakeholders at multiple levels.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP, transportation, supply chain or analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of freight audit and payment processes.
