Full-Stack Software Engineer – CERN CRIC Platform

About the role

CERN is looking for a motivated full‑stack software engineer to join the Computing for Experiments group and work on the Computing Resource Information Catalogue (CRIC). CRIC is a modular Django‑based service that aggregates computing and storage resource information for the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the plugin‑based Django platform, improving maintainability and extensibility.
• Design, implement and operate data‑ingestion pipelines that collect and validate information from heterogeneous external systems.
• Strengthen automation, testing and CI/CD practices for the CRIC codebase.
• Contribute to deployment and operational workflows, including Puppet‑managed instances and CERN VM infrastructure.

Required profile

• Enjoy building reliable, well‑structured software and have curiosity about large‑scale distributed systems.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments and collaborating through Git‑based workflows.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate trade‑offs and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Clear communicator who thrives in an international, multicultural setting.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to take ownership of technical tasks.
