Full-Stack Software Engineer for CERN's EDMS

About the role

The Engineering Department's Information Management group is looking for a motivated full‑stack software engineer to join the international PLM team. You will help modernise the Engineering Data Management System (EDMS) that supports millions of engineering documents and CAD models across the CERN accelerator complex.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend services using Java.
• Build modern web applications with React, Angular or TypeScript.
• Analyse and refactor existing software packages into a new architecture.
• Contribute to the complete modernisation of the EDMS application.
• Define and implement AI‑oriented development pipelines, including data workflows and model deployment.
• Perform code reviews, testing, delivery and ongoing support.

Required profile

• Maximum two years of professional experience in IT after graduation.
• National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• Degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in Information Technology or related field.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; willingness to learn French.

Required skills

• Java backend development.
• Front‑end development with React, Angular or TypeScript.
• SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Version control with Git.
• CI/CD tooling.
• Agile and DevOps practices.
• Experience with AI‑augmented software development pipelines (a plus).
