German Teacher – Full-time (Upper Secondary, MYP/IB)

About the role

International School Altdorf is seeking a full-time German Teacher for its new campus in Wikon, Lucerne. The successful candidate will deliver German language and literature instruction to upper‑secondary students within the MYP and IB programmes. The role involves daily classroom instruction, preparation of materials, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, multicultural learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging German lessons aligned with MYP and IB curricula.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials and employ diverse methodologies to address varied learning styles.
• Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
• Mentor and tutor individuals or small groups, supporting exam preparation.
• Collaborate with colleagues, participate in school events and extracurricular activities.
• Communicate with families and college counseling staff to support holistic student development.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in German, Education or a related field.
• Teaching certification and experience with MYP/IB programmes (highly beneficial).
• High proficiency in German and good command of English.
• Strong teaching, curriculum implementation and classroom management skills.
