Global Director Category Management – HR Services

About the role

The Global Director Category Management – HR Services will lead Lonza’s worldwide procurement of HR services, overseeing a spend of approximately 200 MCHF. Based in Basel, the role is responsible for driving value, innovation and cost optimisation across the HR services supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global category strategies using market insights, demand forecasting and business priorities.
• Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders such as HR leadership, digital, legal and finance to shape sourcing decisions.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation and relationship management to ensure performance, innovation and continuity.
• Drive cross‑functional, international projects focused on automation, standardisation and digitalisation of HR services.
• Establish KPI frameworks and dashboards to continuously improve quality, service and total cost of ownership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field; advanced certifications (e.g., CIPS) are a plus.
• Proven experience in global category management of HR or professional services in complex, international environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and cost optimisation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders worldwide.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
