Global Lead Construction Safety (80-100%)

About the role

Roche is looking for a Global Lead Construction Safety (80-100%) to join its Global Capital Investment team. You will provide strategic leadership, global governance and operational oversight of construction safety across capital investment projects worldwide, shaping global safety standards and protecting workers and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and enforce global construction safety guidance across all capital projects in line with corporate directives.
• Cultivate a shared safety culture through active employee and contractor engagement, recognition and visible leadership.
• Develop and roll out toolkits such as Construction Safety Plans, risk checklists and tender attachments.
• Enforce safety observation processes and stop-work authority for unsafe conditions.
• Ensure rapid reporting of recordable incidents and champion lessons-learned initiatives from investigations.
• Track monthly leading safety indicators and take part in formal project reviews to assess construction safety readiness.

Required profile

• Master's degree (MSc or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline, plus a recognized professional safety credential such as CSP.
• At least 15 years of international construction safety experience, including managing safety for large capital investment projects.
• Influential, collaborative leader who works well in matrix organizations without direct reporting lines.
• Fluent English (German skills or willingness to learn) and open to international travel up to 20%.
