Global Procurement Manager – Direct Materials

About the role

The company is a globally operating manufacturer seeking an experienced procurement professional to own strategic direct‑material categories. This hands‑on position focuses on supplier negotiations, cost optimisation, supply security and category management in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global sourcing strategy for direct material categories.
• Conduct high‑stakes supplier negotiations in cost‑sensitive markets.
• Drive cost‑reduction, benchmarking and value‑improvement initiatives.
• Develop multi‑source supplier strategies to strengthen supply resilience.
• Manage complex international supplier relationships.
• Partner closely with technical, engineering and operational stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain and commercial risks.

Required profile

• 5+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Proven experience with raw materials, components or engineered parts.
• Strong background in technically complex, cost‑pressured markets.
• Successful track record of leading difficult commercial negotiations with global suppliers.
• Resilient, independent and confident in a demanding procurement environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and analytical capabilities.
