About the role
The Group Finance Director will lead the central finance function for an industrial group based in Zurich, ensuring financial integrity across a complex, global, capital‑intensive business. Reporting to the Executive Director Finance, the role acts as a strategic partner to the executive team and includes regular international travel.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership of the Group’s central finance function, ensuring robust governance, controls and compliance across all entities and jurisdictions.
- Oversee preparation and consolidation of Group management accounts and statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and local regulations.
- Lead audits, statutory reporting and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks and other financial stakeholders.
- Partner with the Executive Leadership Team on long‑term business planning, capital allocation and major investment decisions.
- Direct Group‑wide budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
- Monitor financial performance, key risks, liquidity and cash flow, proactively identifying issues and opportunities.
- Develop and standardise finance policies, processes and systems across the Group.
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Maintain key relationships with banks, professional advisors and other institutions.
Required profile
- Approximately 15+ years of finance experience, including senior finance leadership roles.
- Proven experience in large, international, asset‑heavy or capital‑intensive businesses such as energy, industrials, chemicals, infrastructure or project‑based environments.
- Strong track record in group reporting, financial governance, budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, Swiss GAAP, US GAAP, consolidation, internal controls and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.
- Ability to act as a business partner to senior executives and to travel internationally as required.
