Head of Diagnostics Strategy

About the role

Roche's Diagnostics Strategy & Partnering organization defines and implements the Diagnostics strategy, accelerating innovation through partnerships to expand its portfolio. Reporting directly to the Head of Roche Diagnostics Strategy & Partnering, the job holder develops the Diagnostics divisional strategy in close partnership with the Business Areas and Global Functions, working closely with the Head of Strategy & Partnering, the divisional CEO, the Diagnostics Leadership Team and executive stakeholders across the Roche Group.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop and evolve the longer-range strategy for Diagnostics to realise the Diagnostics Vision, together with key stakeholders and functions across the Roche Group
• Own the development of Diagnostics divisional priorities and operating model, and drive the division's strategic planning process
• Architect and lead divisional strategic initiatives and their associated planning processes
• Lead and nurture a team of strategy experts, coaching and enabling them to attract, develop and promote talent across the Roche Group

Required profile

• Extensive multidisciplinary experience in the diagnostics, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with veritable business experience in healthcare, preferably in Pharma or Diagnostics
• Post-graduate degree in finance, business or life sciences (MBA preferred)
• Proven track record in corporate strategy development
• Technical or scientific background and experience in strategy consulting is an advantage
• International or global experience as a people leader in a multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 20-40% of the time
