Head of Ethics and Compliance Europe

About the role

Takeda is seeking a strategic leader to head the Ethics & Compliance function across Europe. Reporting to the Head of Ethics & Compliance International Business Unit, you will partner with senior business leaders to embed ethical decision‑making, risk management and governance into all aspects of the European markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on ethics, compliance, governance, risk management and organisational culture to senior leaders.
• Develop and execute the Europe Ethics & Compliance strategy aligned with global priorities.
• Lead, coach and develop a regional team of six direct reports, building capability and succession pipelines.
• Integrate compliance considerations into business planning, transformation projects, launch readiness and operational decisions.
• Identify, assess, mitigate and monitor ethics and compliance risks, escalating where necessary.
• Strengthen governance frameworks, internal controls and risk‑based compliance programmes.
• Use data, insights and external trends to improve decision‑making and address emerging regulatory developments.
• Champion a culture of integrity, accountability, inclusion and speak‑up behaviours across European markets.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in ethics, compliance, risk or related functions, preferably within a multinational pharmaceutical or life‑science organization.
• Strong track record of influencing senior executives and shaping business strategy.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management and change‑leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across Legal, HR, Finance, Medical, Internal Audit and other functions.
