Head of Financial Communications

About the role

Takeda is seeking a senior leader to define and advance its global financial communications strategy. Reporting to the CFO, this director‑level role will shape how the company’s growth story is communicated to shareholders, analysts, employees and other external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of Takeda’s enterprise‑wide financial communications, aligning messaging with the two‑horizon growth strategy and long‑term value creation.
• Serve as the primary communications advisor to the CFO and Finance Leadership Team, crafting executive communications and providing counsel on investor‑related messaging.
• Partner with Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, Legal and global Communications teams to ensure consistent activation across earnings releases, investor conferences, annual reports and shareholder meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with global financial and business media, acting as spokesperson when required and ensuring executive media readiness.
• Define and drive the retail shareholder engagement strategy, monitoring sentiment and designing initiatives that enhance trust and understanding.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, finance or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in communications, investor relations, finance or related roles, preferably within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Proven ability to counsel senior executives (C‑suite) on investor communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience leading globally distributed communications teams and establishing governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, shareholder dynamics, disclosure requirements and corporate governance.
