Head of Platform & Technology

About the role

Xelon is seeking a single technical leader to own the entire technical organization. The Head of Platform & Technology will drive strategy, architecture, product development and customer‑facing solutions for Xelon’s Swiss cloud ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and grow a technical team of 10 (including 3 direct reports) and foster a culture of ownership and accountability.
• Own the Xelon Platform – public cloud, private clouds, ancillary services and the proprietary cloud management platform Xelon HQ.
• Serve as the primary technical advisor to the CEO and make all major technical decisions.
• Design scalable, high‑availability cloud and hybrid infrastructures (VMware, Kubernetes) tailored to regulated‑industry customers.
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation, blueprints, data‑flow diagrams and integration overviews.
• Integrate compliance and security standards such as SOC2, ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Define and own the product roadmap, translating customer requirements into cost models and feasibility assessments.
• Lead Xelon’s AI Council, promoting secure and compliant AI adoption and AI‑focused service offerings.
• Partner with Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps leads to shape incident escalation, operations models and platform convergence.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams and driving cross‑functional alignment.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to make decisive technical choices.
• Deep understanding of cloud, hybrid infrastructure and regulated‑industry requirements.
