Head of Process Development (80-100% FTE)

About the role

Molecular Partners is seeking a Head of Process Development to lead end‑to‑end process strategies for DARPin therapeutics. This senior position will shape upstream and downstream development, ensuring robust, scalable and compliant manufacturing from early research through GMP production.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive process development strategies across USP and DSP for DARPin candidates.
• Lead internal CMC teams and coordinate closely with external CDMOs.
• Oversee technology transfers, GMP manufacturing campaigns and batch record activities.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and ensure high‑quality material supply for preclinical and clinical studies.
• Manage deviations, change control and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in biologics process development, especially downstream and preferably upstream.
• Proven track record of technology transfer to CDMOs and GMP manufacturing oversight.
• Strong leadership experience building high‑performing, matrixed teams.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills; fluent English.
