Head of Quality and Industrialization

About the role

Lead the development and implementation of the quality management system and industrialization strategy for Lightium’s photonic integrated circuits, taking technology from lab to qualified, high‑yield volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the first QMS, drive ISO 9001 certification by end‑2027, and manage internal/external audits.
• Industrialize TFLN processes, qualify the 200 mm line, and oversee process FMEAs, control plans, and capability studies (Cpk/Ppk).
• Manage relationships with external fabs, foundries and back‑end subcontractors, including qualification, audits, scorecards and dual‑sourcing strategy.
• Lead yield analysis, SPC implementation, and turn PLM/ERP data into quality KPIs.
• Define and execute reliability and product qualification programs (Telcordia, JEDEC, MIL‑STD), including accelerated life testing and failure analysis.
• Own production quality across IQC, IPQC, OQC, handle customer quality requirements, audits and RMA processes.
• Embed quality processes in PLM, ERP and MES systems, drive continuous improvement and build a quality‑focused team.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in quality and industrialization within the semiconductor industry, preferably in photonics or wafer‑based technologies.
• Proven track record taking processes from development to qualified high‑yield volume production and leading ISO 9001 certification.
• Hands‑on leadership style, capable of both strategic oversight and detailed technical work.

Required skills

• ISO 9001 lead auditor or similar quality certification.
• Six Sigma Black Belt, SPC, Cpk/Ppk, MSA/GR&R.
• Process FMEA, control plans, CAPA, 8D problem‑solving.
• Reliability testing methods (HTOL, temperature cycling, damp heat, MIL‑STD, Telcordia GR‑468‑CORE).
• Foundry and subcontractor management, quality agreements, PCN handling.
• Experience with PLM (Aras Innovator), ERP (Oracle NetSuite) and MES systems.
