Head of Retail

About the role

The Head of Retail will be accountable for delivering retail revenue and profitability across EMEA, translating Timberland’s brand strategy into consumer‑led store execution. Based in Stabio, Switzerland, the role sits within the retail organisation and owns the end‑to‑end commercial plan, ensuring every in‑store experience aligns with brand intent and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to define retail long‑range plan (LRP) goals aligned with overall GM and VP Retail.
• Deliver retail revenue, margin and contribution targets for the brand.
• Translate brand and financial objectives into a clear retail trading plan in collaboration with Planning, Merchandising and Brand functions.
• Lead in‑season trading decisions, including full‑price and outlet performance and agile inventory management.
• Own the go‑to‑market process, seasonal commercial calendar, store tiering and product storytelling.
• Manage the end‑to‑end store customer experience, elevating service models and visual‑merchandising quality.
• Maintain regular field presence, conduct joint store visits with District Managers, and coach store leadership.
• Partner with Finance, Real Estate and field leaders on store concept development, investment decisions and lease negotiations.

Required profile

• Proven senior retail leadership experience in a multi‑country environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue and margin growth.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Planning, Merchandising, Brand, Finance and Real Estate teams.
• Experience in seasonal planning, inventory management and store concept development.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills for field execution.
