IBM i (iSeries) System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) System Administrator to join our hybrid team in London. You will ensure the stability, performance and security of large IBM i environments supporting our financial services and healthcare technology clients.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) systems, performing OS upgrades, patching and PTF management.
• Monitor system performance (CPU, memory, storage) and proactively resolve issues.
• Manage backup and recovery using BRMS or equivalent, including disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Configure and maintain LPAR environments, TCP/IP networking and connected devices.
• Create and maintain user profiles, security settings and access controls in line with compliance policies.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and infrastructure problems, coordinating with vendors as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in IBM i system administration.
• Proven experience with OS upgrades, PTF management, security administration and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of IBM Power Systems architecture.
• Experience with backup/recovery solutions such as BRMS and disaster recovery processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical issues clearly.
